A 3D adventure game set in the 17th century Caribbean, Buccaneer offers high-seas combat, land combat, and elements of resource management. Players can choose a "cut-to-the-chase" combat-only option or immerse themselves in the wide-open world of the buccaneers by choosing the campaign option!
Combat is fast and furious. Fight ship-to-ship and board the enemy for desperate hand-to-hand action. The goal in combat-only mode is to sink the enemy without getting killed in the process! Ship-to-ship combat is always in real-time 3D and can be played with up to four players via the Internet, modem or serial connection.
Campaigns present the buccaneer's life in more depth. Players choose from 6 storylines and set out on a career that will hopefully end in amnesty and/or a wealthy retirement! Along the way, players must obtain bigger and better ships, keep crews happy (and loyal!) and complete individual missions. Fighting and negotiating one's way to the top involves maneuvering through 23 territories in the Caribbean. Capturing enemy ships. Plundering ports and towns. And living to tell of it all!
